 Army Ten-Miler – A Monumental Tour of DC

10 miler logoThe course is USA Track and Field Certified and is mostly flat, fast and picturesque. The start will be along Route 27 adjacent to the Pentagon and proceeds up and across the Arlington Memorial Bridge. From there the course heads towards the Lincoln Memorial and goes off to the left across Constitution Avenue to 19th Street to Virginia Avenue. A left turn is made at Rock Creek Parkway to go by the John F. Kennedy Center. Rock Creek Parkway is followed up to Independence Avenue near John Ericsson Memorial. The route continues past the National World War II Memorial and the Washington Monument on the left, and Thomas Jefferson Memorial on the right. The course continues along Independence Avenue going past the Air and Space Museum to 3rd Street where a left turn is made, crossing the National Mall to Pennsylvania Avenue. A right is made to 1st Street where the U.S. Capitol will be on the left. Swing another right at Independence Avenue and head up to 14 Street onto the HOV lanes for the last two miles of the course to the South Pentagon Parking Lot.
